SINGING group, The Loose Cannons, raised more than £1,300 for local charities over the Christmas period.

The singers exercised their vocal cords in the Lewes Arms, The John Harvey Tavern and The Brewers Arms in Lewes. They also performed at a Live Nativity at Spring Barn Farm, Kingston.

Organisers want to say a big thank you to their generous hosts at the Claitune Masonic Hall in Uckfield where a massive £320 was donated.

Spokeswoman Louise Pennington said: “We’ve only been going for about six months but we’re already planning a busy programme for this year.

“Approaches have been made to Harveys Brewery and two writers are busy composing a special Harveys’ song.

“Where would we be without our real ale?”

They need male singers so if you can help ring Louise on: 07765 997082.
