A MAN has been arrested after an alleged road rage incident in Uckfield.

Police say at 4.40pm on Monday, August 13 a man was driving his car south on the A22, Uckfield by-pass, when he was threatened by the driver of a tipper truck, also travelling south.

The tipper truck driver waved what he believed to be a handgun at him.

The police helicopter was scrambled and ground units directed in.

Less than an hour later, as a result of police enquiries, armed offices went to an address in Eastbourne Road, Halland where they arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of affray and possession of an imitation handgun.

They say the arrest took place without violence or injury.

The man was later released on police bail until November 12 while enquiries continue.
