A man has been charged with drink-driving after a collision on the A27 on Saturday (April 23).

Anil Sidhu, 31, a bar steward, of Cowick Road, London was arrested and charged following the incident, which caused major disruption on the road.

Emergency services were called to the Ashcombe roundabout on the A27 at Lewes at 7.05am on Saturday where a Ford Focus had collided with a lamppost and had ended up in some bushes.

The road was closed for five hours until midday while the lamppost was made safe.
