Man faces assault charges for Heathfield pub beating

A MAN has appeared in court charged with three counts of assault by beating and two counts of criminal damage.

Samuel Hardwick, 18, from Longview, Heathfield, pleaded not guilty to the five alleged offences.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on January 7 this year at the Prince of Wales pub in Heathfield.

He will next appear at Eastbourne magistrates court on April 21 for trial.

Magistrate Colin Crook said: “You are going to have a trial arranged for April 21. Until that time you are released on conditional bail.”

The conditions of bail include not to contact directly or indirectly prosecution witnesses and not to go to the Prince of Wales pub in Heathfield.
