A man’s body was discovered on the Cuckoo Trail near Polegate on Monday afternoon, (March 17) police have said.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 2pm and the area was cordoned off for several hours.
Police said the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police said the man is thought to be in his 30s and his body was found by a member of the public.
A spokesman said, “Police and ambulance services attended an area of woodland near the start of the Cuckoo Trail at Polegate where a body was discovered on Monday afternoon (March 17).
“The body, thought to be that of a man in his 30s, was found by a member of the public around 2.20pm, not far from the A27 Polegate bypass.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the matter has been passed to the coroner’s officer.
“The man’s next of kin have been informed.”
