Man who died in Hankham collision named

A MAN who died in a collision after he was thrown from a car has been named by police.

Aron Taylor, aged 28, of Jevington Gardens, Eastbourne, was a passenger in a silver Vauxhall Astra with a group of young people when there was a collision at 3am on Hankham Road, near the junction with Foords Lane, in Hankham at 3am on January 3.

He was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital where he was declared dead at 8.45am that morning.

A 17-year-old girl from Eastbourne was also taken to hospital with a broken leg.

An 18-year-old girl from Eastbourne was uninjured, but was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent. She has been bailed until April 15. A 21-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested later on Monday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taking a vehicle without consent. He was bailed until April 20.
