A 27-year-old Burwash mum of two is running the Brighton Marathon on April 10 in memory of her sister who died, aged just 25.
Laura Carver ran both the London and Brighton Marathons last year - just a week apart. This year she and her dad Gwyn Jones, also from Burwash, are running the Brighton one side by side. They are hoping to raise money for St Peter and St James Hospice.
Laura said: “My sister Becky was diagnosed with cancer in the February and died in April, just seven weeks later. She was cared for wonderfully by the Hospice and we want to say thank-you.”
Bekcy ran the London Marathon in five and a half hours but since then she’s shed three stone thanks to a toxin-free diet. “I feel fit and I am so much lighter.”
Laura and Gwyn are training by running around the roads of Burwash and Stonegate and also up and down the Cuckoo Trail from Heathfield to Polegate.
