Two charities have benefited to the tune of £3,390 each thanks to fundraising by the former mayor of Eastbourne.

Councillor Mike Thompson’s chosen charities for his second year as mayor were Matthew 25 Mission and Chloe’s Fight for Sight and representatives from both good causes attended a special presentation in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Town Hall.

He said, “I was so pleased to be able to give my two nominated charities – Matthew 25 Mission and Chloe’s Fight for Sight – cheques for £3390 each. It has been a pleasure working with the charities and thanks to their hard work we have been able to raise a good sum for each of them.”
