The Met Office has today issued an Amber weather warning for much of East Sussex, with heavy snow forecast tomorrow (Friday).

It says there is a strong risk of disruption as the UK braces itself for the cold weather.

Andy Page, Met Office Chief Forecaster, said: “The snow is expected to be heaviest during Friday morning across Wales and the southern half of England.

“Clearly there is the potential for significant disruption to people’s plans. We should follow the advice of the emergency services and local authorities to help keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe in light of the forecast.”

Meanwhile, the warning of significant snowfall has prompted rail operator Southern to amend its timetable for Friday.

Trains will not split or join at Haywards Heath or Horsham stations, and will mean passengers who travel on the East and West Coastways into and out of London may be affected.

Passengers are advised to check train times before travelling.
