THE SUN might be shining over Lewes right now but don’t get too used to it.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain for East Sussex for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The warning to be prepared for the possibility of flooding was issued at 1.15pm starting at 6am on Wednesday and ending at 9pm.
Forecasters predict heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop, with the additional possibility of more prolonged rain in some areas, especially northeast England, and a risk of localised surface water flooding.
On Thursday the warning runs from 8am to midnight on Friday and is for outbreaks of heavy rainfall crossing southern areas of England.
On Friday renewed heavy rainfall is expected and strong winds will spread north and east on Friday, affecting much of England and Wales.
Forecasters warned to be aware that given ongoing near-saturated conditions, some localised flooding may result.
