Met Office warns of possible floods

A YELLOW warning has been issued by the Met Office this afternoon (Thursday June 14) as there is potential for heavy rainfall that could lead to localised flooding in the South East.

The alert was made just before 3pm and forecasters said showers are likely to merge into more persistent rain this afternoon, with the potential for some heavy rainfall in places.

They warned that, following recent heavy rainfall the ground remains saturated and further rainfall would lead to surface water issues and perhaps localised flooding.
