Middle Farm’s popular Apple Festival 2012 has been cancelled due to the wet weather experienced in Sussex, making the car parking fields unusable.
The festival was due to take place from Saturday October 20 to Sunday October 21 and would have featured live music, such as well known blues guitarist John Crampton, The Piranhas and The Moulettes.
But organisers had raised fears about highway safety if they were forced to turn cars away.
A statement on the site said: “Given the weather we have had, and the effect that it has had on the car parking fields, rendering them unusable, we have been left with no choice but to take the heart-breaking decision to cancel Apple Festival 2012.
“We have serious concerns with regard to public safety, and even more concern that if we refuse car parking to festival goers there will be a danger on the public highway(s).
“With rain still falling, and seven hours more rain forecast for Friday, we feel that we would be failing in our duty of care to attendees not to take this action.”
