A primary school in Peacehaven held a summer fair to celebrate its first year after the amalgamation of Hoddern Junior and Peacehaven Infant schools in September 2012.
Peacehaven Heights Primary School’s first whole school summer fair was opened by the town mayor Rachael Coles on Friday July 19.
It also featured a special performance of the school’s Year 3 classes singing their own Peacehaven song.
There were events throughout the afternoon with the juniors’ site choir, drumming, Lucas Irwin Burns’ award winning dog agility and Coastlands puppets.
The executive head Mark Trott said: “It has been a challenging year for everyone concerned with the school but the combined efforts of staff, pupils, parents and governors has resulted in a school moving in the right direction and children with much improved academic results.”
The school said it had celebrated the best ever SAT results for their Year 6 children too. The school raised £2,241 which has gone to the school funds.
The student council will decide on what they would like the money to be spent on.
