THE start of the London Olympics was marked by the International Summer School at Sussex Downs College in Lewes staging their own games.
Students from Spain, China, Japan, Italy and Taiwan complemented their English language studies by competing in a mixture of serious athletic events, including the 100m and long jump, and sports-day favourites including egg and spoon and sack races.
Each class chose a different country to represent, with teams from Canada, Brazil, Norway, Australia, Greece, Cuba and New Zealand.
New Zealand came out the overall medals winner.
They also kicked off the event with a brilliantly enthusiastic costumed Haka dance, featuring specially designed masks (pictured right).
