As every child knows, there’s only one Father Christmas – but try telling that to Southern Water staff.
To raise money for St Barnabas House hospice, 130 Southern Water employees – including Chief Executive Matthew Wright and several directors – donned beards, hats and red suits for the day on Friday (December 14).
Staff from Southern Water’s offices across the region gave St Barnabas £10 for each outfit – raising vital funds for the charity which runs the hospice, in Worthing.
The company was one of a number of Worthing businesses which took part.
Kevin Buck, who co-ordinates Southern Water’s charity fundraising activities, said: “St Barnabas House is a cause close to our hearts at Southern Water.
“Many of our employees have had friends or family cared for there and it is a close neighbour of our Durrington headquarters.
“It was great to see so many Southern Water staff from across the region embrace the festive spirit and help us raise money for such a good cause.”
Sloane Vaughan Community Fundraising Manager for St Barnabas House, said: “We are very grateful to Southern Water, they are the biggest group of Santas we have got and it’s fabulous that so many people have got involved.
“Southern Water supports us throughout the year, not just at Christmas which is fantastic.”
