Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision with a car on the A265 near Broad Oak, Heathfield, at 12.27pm on Thursday (April 3).

Emergency services were called to the scene near Baileys Farm, just east of Broad Oak.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his mid-50s, was airlifted to Kings College Hospital, London.

The driver of the Volvo car involved was uninjured.

The road was closed for four hours between the junctions with Scotsford Road to the west and Swife Lane to the east.

Drivers were thanked for their patience while the road has been closed.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or email quoting Operation Sequin.
