TWO motorcyclists were stopped by an unmarked road policing car which had allegedly recorded their speed in excess of 130mph on the A27 at Polegate.

The two riders were arrested and their bikes were seized by police, following the alleged incident at 10am on June 12.

Daniel Miles, 27, of Colesmead Road, Redhill, Surrey, and Lloyd Taylor, 23, of Oak Road, Caterham, Surrey, have been charged with dangerous driving and excess speed and have been bailed to appear at Eastbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 27.

Sergeant Dan Pitcher of East Sussex Road Policing Unit said: “Roads policing officers in Sussex have a number of vehicles marked and unmarked which are pro-actively used to detect anti-social and dangerous riding.

“Members of the public concerned about someone’s manner of driving are also urged to make use of our online reporting form which can be found at www.operationcrackdown.org”
