Besides French and English stalls at Heathfield’s Le Marche on Bank Holiday Monday, there is entertainment for everyone.

Youngsters are always enthralled by entertainers Marco the Magician and Andy Bosco.

Besides touring the streets with their magic tricks and balloon modelling, they visit The State Hall at half past the hour and some performances include a Punch and Judy show.

There’s also plenty to keep them occupied at the Fire Station open day.

Music is played from 9.30-5.30 at the Station Road stage, High Street and Union Church. Headlining this year are Brighton based tribute band The Vox Beatles.

There is also folk and harmony from Remnant, foot-stomping Americana from 21 Whiskeys, country singing performed (and often written) by Kathryn Anderson who recently returned from performing in Nashville, plus 15-year-old singer/guitarist Milly McCarron.

Music for all tastes includes African type drumming performed by Muso Bango (Ladies with Drums;) an upbeat selection of popular music from Heathfield Silver Band; traditional jazz by The Sussex Stompers; music from Mozart to McCartney by The Gibbs Trio (strings,) returning this year as they went down so well last year and Bexhill wind band known as The Wacky Band. The Union Church hosts the classical/easy listening performances.

Programmes are distributed on the day but plan your musical entertainment in advance by visiting: and reading more about the acts, appearance times and venues.
