The Villages Music Festival will be returning from June 21-29 to celebrate the rich range of music and the arts in Ripe, Chalvington and Laughton, writes Francesca Malila.
Organiser Joan Royle is pleased to be bringing the popular event back after two years and said: “The festival has something for everyone and you can be assured of a warm welcome with a high standard of performance, a friendly atmosphere and lovely venues.”
The three villages will host many attractions, including an opera evening, the art trail with nine venues, scenic festival walks, school events and a First World War commemoration by the City Chamber Choir.
Visitors can also get involved with Laughton Pop-up Orchestra, which welcomes players of all instruments no matter what their experience, take part in French folk dancing or join Alys Torrance and the Boney-Leg Band for “hair-raising, heart-stopping Russian folk tales and music”.
