Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ Phil Jupitus to play Uckfield Laughter Lounge

PHILL Jupitus leads the comedy line-up at the Uckfield Laughter Lounge on Wednesday, March 7.

The popular stand-up and TV comedian has been a team captain on BBC Two’s pop music quiz show Never Mind the Buzzcocks since its inception in 1996.

He is also a regular guest on QI.

Phill performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year for the first time in four years and the Festival guide said: “Erudite, troubled, occasionally mean, if you’ve only ever seen him on TV, expect to spill your drink in fury/joy.”

Kevin Markwick, owner of The Picture House, Uckfield, where the Laughter Lounge is based said he was delighted to welcome this big-name star to the venue.

He added: “Phill Jupitus is a household name and I’m pleased the loyal Laughter Lounge following will have the chance to see him here in Uckfield.”

Also performing on the Laughter Lounge stage in March are Thom Tuck, described in The List as “Funny and heart-wrenching” and Caroline Mabey, described by The Guardian as offering “Maverick coffee-fuelled silliness from super-bizarre London comic”.

Shows at the Laughter Lounge Uckfield are on the first Wednesday each month. See The Picture House website at; http://www.picturehouseuckfield.com/laughter-lounge.aspx
