After 17 years in the hands of Teresa and Barry Taylor, the Wishing Well Tea Rooms in Wilmington see new faces at the helm – but a family connection has continued.

Couple Carol and Bernard Curtis are now running the Sussex Tea Rooms and Carol, who is the Auntie of Teresa Taylor, is maintaining the high reputation for cakes and cream teas.

Carol said she is looking forward to building on the loyal customer base and retaining the character of the Sussex Tea Rooms which caters for motorists and walkers.

Bernard, a former chairman of the local MS Society and current chairman of MS Family Support will be joining wife Carol in their new venture.

Bernard said: “We are really grateful for the overwhelming support of the Wishing Well regulars and look forward to welcoming new customers to experience the pleasures of a traditional Sussex Tea Room.”

Groups of up to 20 are welcome – phone Bernard or Carol on 01323 487967. The Wishing Well is open Tuesday – Sunday 10.30am until 4.30pm.
