New German group in Seaford is growing in popularity

A German Conversation Group set up by Seaford’s Twinning Association has encouraged 65 people to express an interest or attend its events since its launch.

Next on the agenda is a social conversation evening in the function room at the White Lion, Belgrave Road, on Wednesday November 13 from 7pm.

Anyone with a knowledge of or interest in speaking German, of any standard or in any of its regional forms, is welcome to attend.

Conversationalists are asked to pay £1 towards running expenses, there will be a raffle and attendees can order a pub meal if they wish.

Recent events included a lunch-for-conversation at the Sailing Club’s Shorebreak Cafe, and a German Film evening at the Deckchair Cinema in Alfriston’s Coach House Gallery.

The film Goodbye Lenin drew an audience of nearly 50 from as far away as Hove, Heathfield, and Germany itself. Find out more details of the group’s activities from Peter on 01323 897360 or Liz on 01323 896315.
