NEWHAVEN is set for some ‘finger lickin’ good’ news - KFC is to open in the town with the creation of 35 jobs.

The Sussex Express can exclusively reveal planning consent has been granted for a new 94 cover restaurant and head office at The Drove.

Newhaven Town Council and K&Z Newhaven Ltd made the announcement this week.

Steve Saunders, Newhaven Town Mayor, said: “Newhaven Town Council is delighted to see the opening of the new KFC outlet at The Drove in Newhaven.

“The news that the franchise will also be locating their head office at the site is even greater news.

“This will ensure more jobs and more prosperity for the area that is continuing to benefit from investor interest.

“We are glad to see that they will be able to share in the regeneration of the town and port and wish them every success.”

A spokesman for KFC franchisee, K&Z Newhaven Ltd said: “We have been looking to identify an appropriate site for several years so we’re very excited about opening our new KFC restaurant in Newhaven.

“The new restaurant is due to open at the end of July, creating around 35 full and part-time jobs in the community, and we are now recruiting.

“We look forward to welcoming Newhaven residents to the restaurant when we open.”

With 15 full time and 20 part time jobs becoming available, potential candidates should apply online now at kfc.co.uk/join-us and follow the links.

Last week the Sussex Express reported residents’ wishes for more employment opportunities as part of The People’s Report compiled after Newhaven Town Council’s The Big Planning Event.
