Beachy Head will be in the spotlight next week as acclaimed BBC drama, Luther, returns for a fourth season.

The latest season opens with DCI John Luther (Idris Elba) lying low in a cottage on the East Sussex coast after the series three finale before being given a shocking piece of news by his former colleagues.

Idris Elba, as well as co-stars Rose Leslie and Darren Boyd, were seen filming the series’ opening scenes at Beachy Head, Cuckmere Haven and the Coastguard Cottages near Seaford in March this year.

Before long, Luther is back in London and on the trail of a cannibalistic serial killer who has outsmarted police.

Dogged at every step by ghosts from his past, Luther is forced to put himself and his new colleague Emma (Rose Leslie) into harm’s way.

The two-part miniseries begins at 9pm on Tuesday December 15 with the concluding part airing the following week (December 22).
