NEWHAVEN Rotary Club thanked Sainsbury’s shoppers for their generosity to the Christmas collections held at the store.

In total they helped raise almost £2,670 by contributing to collections at the supermarket in Drove Road.

The club thanked the store manager and staff of Sainsbury’s for making the collections possible.

Money will go to local and rotary charities throughout the year.

Club chair Kathleen Verral said: “Again, many thanks to all those who thought of others in the festive season.”

Money raised from a raffle at the Christmas tea and concert went to Demelza Hospice Care for Children in Hailsham.
