Norcross Dance Centre pupils in Peter Pan in Worthing

THE limelight beckoned for pupils from the Norcross Dance Centre in Newhaven who gained coveted places on the pantomime Peter Pan.

They auditioned in September, began rehearsals in October and the panto started its run in December 2010 at the Pavilion Theatre in Worthing, finishing on New Year’s Day.

Pupils who took part were: Jessica Hall, aged six, Emma Durnford, aged seven, Kiri Harmer, aged 11, Beth Durnford aged 11, Jasmine Finch, aged 11. Lauramay Pettitt, aged ten, played the part of the Neverland Babes.

Stars of the pantomime were Darren Day, who played Mr Darling, and Captain Hook. Tom, Lynsey and Jack from the breakfast team at Heart FM played the parts of Starkey and Cookie (Tom and Lynsey shared their role as Lynsey is seven months pregnant).

Peter Pan was played by James-Royden Lyley who won the role at the Heart FM auditions

Alison Norcross, who runs the Norcorss Dance Centre in Newhaven said: “Being part of the pantomime was a wonderful experience for the girls and they loved every minute of it.”
