JUST TEN days before the Paralympic Games begin in London, the Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford will be hosting the Seahaven Para Games on Sunday August 19.
The day - running from 10am until 4pm – now has a confirmed timetable of four sporting activities plus a buffet lunch.
The activities will include wheelchair basketball, kurling, boccia and wheelchair slalom.
The day will also include an opening and closing ceremony, with presentations of awards made at the end of the day.
Seaford Kurlers and Lewes Boccia have both kindly volunteered to assist on the day, by coaching and running their own sporting disciplines.
Wave leisure managing director Peter Crowley said: “We are thrilled to be able to host this event for another year and we hope to build on the great atmosphere of participation and competition that was generated last year.”
There are currently ten available spaces for participants on the day and we would ask that participants must be accompanied by a carer at all times if required.
There is no charge for participants on the day, with the event being supported and sponsored by the Community Games Fund, Sainsbury’s, Seaford Rotary Club and Wave Leisure Trust.
If you would be interested in entering either as a team or as an individual contact the Downs Leisure Centre on 01323 490011 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
