A PEACEHAVEN school has been presented with £1,000 worth of sports equipment vouchers.
Peacehaven Community School won the vouchers in a Lloyds TSB prize draw after parents and the local community pledged their support to the school after pupils took part in the National School Sport Week in June.
Sue Gladden, bank manager of the Newhaven Lloyds TSB branch, presented the vouchers to Colette Barry, PE teacher at the school.
As part of National School Sport Week, Lloyds TSB encouraged parents and the local community to pledge their support for their child’s school on lloydstsb.com/london2012.
Primary schools who received at least 25 individual pledges and Secondary schools achieving 100 pledges or more were entered into a prize draw.
The winning 15 schools, of which Peacehaven Community School was one, won £1,000 worth of sports equipment vouchers.
Colette Barry, PE teacher at Peacehaven said: “Thank you to all the parents and people from the local community who got behind our school during Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week.
“It’s fantastic to win £1,000 worth of sports equipment vouchers which we will put to good use to help our pupils take part in even more sport. And we’ll definitely be taking part in next year’s week.”
Sue Gladden added: “Congratulations to Peacehaven Community College for being one of our winners, and I look forward to coming back for next year’s National School Sport Week to see the equipment in use.”
Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week 2011 will take place from 27 June to 1 July. Schools can register now to take part at: www.schoolsportweek.org.
