A company which makes office screens and partitioning in Peacehaven is celebrating its 21st birthday this year.
Screen Solutions began life when Julian Grindall set up the business in a temporary cabin on a mushroom farm in Golden Cross.
Now based in Beaufort House in Greenwich Way, the company is thrilled to be opening its new London showroom later this year.
Founding owner and CEO of Screen Solutions Julian said: “I am proud we have reached this great milestone.
“It’s a testament to the hard work and effort sustained by everyone through the good and the tough times.
“There are unfortunately few local businesses still around today after 21 years.
“40 per cent of our staff have been with us for over 10 years and I’m personally pleased at our achievement of becoming one of the largest employers in this region of the South Coast.
“We’re going to have a little party to celebrate a job well done by one and all and look forward to the coming years ahead.”
The company is also undergoing a complete rebrand, along with a website overhaul.
It is planning to redevelop its factory layout and to invest in new haulage to fulfil the demand of its business in export.
Clients include Vodafone, Virgin Atlantic, Bupa, Tesco, BT and the NHS.
Screen Solutions said it remained a Sussex-based company, which employed more than 70 local people.
The business highlighted several awards it had accumulated over the years including Seahaven Business of the Year and the NewCEP Business Award for creating employment opportunities for local people who have been in long-term unemployment.
Screen Solutions offers work experience to pupils at local schools and holds annual charity events.
It raised more than £20,000 during the last four years and its recent Christmas campaign raised £700 for Sussex children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House.
It has an in-house design, research and development team and the majority of components are made on-site.
Screen Solutions also has a dedicated team which specialises in office and open-area noise solutions.
Its projects range from theatres, school halls and restaurants to large multi-national institutions.
It said this area of its business was growing rapidly thanks to the current office design trend for large open-plan spaces.
It is Europe’s largest dedicated manufacturer of bespoke office screens and partitioning.
