Peacehaven woman seriously injured in A26 crash near Beddingham

AN ELDERLY woman from Peacehaven was in a critical condition following a collision on the A26 near Beddingham.

Sussex Police said the 88-year-old woman was a front seat passenger in a Ford Fiesta car.

She was injured in a collision with a Fiat Punto, driven by a 19-year-old man on Monday April 9.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene of the collision at 4pm.

The driver of the blue Fiesta, a 63-year-old woman from London, received minor injuries and was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and has since been discharged.

A 19-year-old man from Middlesex who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving has been bailed until June 18 pending further enquiries.
