Pets at Home in Newhaven to teach kids about rabbits

FREE WORKSHOPS will be held at Pets at Home in Newhaven to teach children how to care for rabbits responsibly.

They will take place over the Bank Holiday to coincide with Rabbit Awareness Week.

The workshops will run on Saturday May 28 and Sunday May 29 at 2.30pm each day.

Kids will be able to meet some rabbits and experts will teach them how to keep the animals healthy and happy.

Store manager, James Tipper, explains: “Our workshops will teach children everything they need to know about looking after rabbits in a fun and enjoyable way.

“Rabbits make great family pets but there are several important factors to consider such as how to handle rabbits gently and carefully, what kind of foods rabbits can and can’t eat, where they should live and how to keep them entertained.”

As well as workshops, every day at 2.30pm the store runs Picnic Time, where children can watch pets eat and find out what nutrition a rabbit needs to stay a healthy weight and keep their digestive systems working properly.
