Plant your mark on project that will benefit Plumpton’s children

Thanks to donations and grants, Plumpton Parish Council has been able to commission the total refurbishment of the play area adjacent to the village playing fields.

The new equipment and layout will provide years of healthy exercise and fun for many years to come for village youngsters and work, costing some £50,000, is expected to commence at the end of April

The council has also been given 100 small trees and hedging plants from the Woodland Trust that are to be planted along the northern boundary of the play area. This project will take place on Sunday (March 23) between 10am and 12noon.

Volunteers are being sought to carry out the planting and they are invited to just turn up, bringing their own tools. Refreshments will be provided.

Cllr Clare Eastwood, Chairman of the Playing Fields Committee, said: “I urge everyone who possibly can to be there to help kick-off this project that is so important for the current young village population and those to come.”
