Youth services in Hailsham are continuing to go from strength to strength, according to the town council.

The youth service provide activities for young people in Hailsham between the ages of 12 and 17.

One of these is the council’s Friday Night Project. Hailsham Town Council said a number of activities have been planned for the project, which helps to create alternative recreational activities for young people on Friday evenings, including windsurfing, bowling, snowboarding and dry-slope skiing.

The council said young people in Hailsham will continue to have access to a wide range of outings and activities throughout the year via the project.

The Friday Night Project is funded by The Safer Wealden Partnership and Hailsham Town Council, and works in partnership with Targeted Youth Support and Hailsham Community College.

Andy Joyes, Youth Project Coordinator at Hailsham Town Council, said: “Leisure activities organised by the town council and its partners offer young people the chance to take part in a diverse range of recreational activities. The Friday Night Project in particular is a good example of partnership in the community working at its best and I’d like to express my thanks to all project partners, in addition to the Safer Wealden Partnership for their generous funding from the very beginning.”

All young people in Hailsham and surrounding areas aged 12 to 17 are welcome to attend outings organised for the Friday Night Project.
