A police sergeant was so '˜appalled' that burglars had targeted two Uckfield charity shops before Christmas that he made a cash donation from the Police Property Act Fund.

Burglars raided Age UK and Sense back in November 2016.

Sergeant Simon Kind sought donations from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF) to help offset their losses.

PPAF is made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold. Each of the two charity shops was granted £250.

Sgt Kind recently went along in person to present cheques to delighted staff at both shops.
