At the Annual Meeting of Wealden District Council, Councillor Jonica Fox stepped down as Chairman of the Council after completing her two year term.
Councillor Brian Redman was proposed by Councillor Fox and appointed as her replacement, with Councillor Barby Dashwood-Morris as new Vice Chairman.
“I hadn’t realised just how many wonderful people quietly contribute so much of their time, experience, care and vision to their communities” said Councillor Fox.
Additionally, changes were announced to the portfolios of Wealden District Council’s Cabinet with Cllr Roy Galley becoming portfolio holder for Economic Development and Regeneration and Cllr Ann Newton now heading up Planning and Development.
Cllr Bob Standley, Leader of Wealden District Council thanked members of the Council for their work over the past year and looked forward to the challenges in the year ahead.
The Cabinet responsibilities are:
Cllr Bob Standley - Leader; also responsible for Governance and Strategic Finance
Cllr Claire Dowling - Public Health and Community Safety and Deputy Leader.
Cllr Roy Galley - Economic Development and Regeneration
Cllr Ann Newton - Planning and Development
Cllr Nick Collinson - Community Leadership and Communications
Cllr Graham Wells - Housing and Asset Management
Cllr Rowena Moore - Customer Services and Benefits
