THE POST Office has moved into The Co-operative in Peacehaven following the closure of Martin McColl’s store. The new Post Office will open in the store in Meridian Way on Wednesday February 22 and its three existing employees will transfer to the new location.
A wide range of postal services will be offered at the store, including all mail transactions, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
Customers can also top up mobiles phones, pay bills, pre-order foreign currency and access a range of Government services.
To mark the red-letter launch day, youngsters from Meridian Community Primary School posted the first, giant letter, along with store manager, Phil Brown, in return for a £150 donation to school funds from The Co-operative.
Phil Brown, manager of the Peacehaven Co-operative Food store, said: “Local services are vital in creating a sense of community, and we’re already receiving wonderful feedback from residents who are thrilled that we have stepped in to save their postal service.
“Having Post Office services based within the food store makes it simple and convenient for customers to run all their errands at once.”
