A YELLOW rain warning was issued by the Met Office this morning (Friday July 6) for East Sussex.

There was no sign of a warning yesterday but forecasters gave the warning to be prepared for surface water flooding and increasing risk of river flooding at 11.30am today, valid until midnight.

They said areas of heavy rain will continue to extend north and west across many central and northern parts of England, much of Wales and fringing into southeastern parts of Northern Ireland, whilst slow moving thundery showers develop across southern parts of England.
