UCKFIELD-based independent builders’ merchants Parker Building Supplies helped raise a whopping £2,400 for the Teenage Cancer Trust at a charity quiz night and auction.

A signed Brighton and Hove Albion shirt was the biggest seller at the auction, netting £135, while a signed Sussex County Cricket Club shirt bowled in at £85. In total, 31 teams took part in the quiz night held at the Cinque Ports Club in Uckfield, raising money for Parker’s chosen charity of the year, the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Organiser Lisa Kirk, of Parker Building Supplies, said: “The event proved a great success with an incredible amount raised for such a worthy cause. We would like to thank all the local businesses, and our suppliers for their generous gifts and donations; the Cinque Ports for the use of facilities and help on the night, and even the winning team for kindly choosing to donate their cash prize.

“Last year Parker’s staff raised more than £10,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust and this year, with events like this one, we hope to raise even more.”
