Wilmington Priory, founded by the mother of William the Conqueror in the 13th century will be open free from April 4 until April 7.

The open days will give the public an opportunity to see inside the building, which is otherwise only available as self-catering holiday accommodation, through building preservation charity, the Landmark Trust.

Wilmington Priory in Wilmington was a satellite of the Benedictine Abbey of Notre-Dame de Grestain, founded in Normandy by Herluin de Conteville and his wife Arlette, the mother of William of Conqueror.

Wilmington Priory was a base from which to manage Notre-Dame de Grestain’s English estates.
