NEW Year’s Day saw the arrival of an adult cat at Raystede in Ringmer – which had reportedly been found dumped in a suitcase outside a shop in Eastbourne.
The frightened animal was brought to the centre for animal welfare in relatively good condition, despite his traumatic ordeal. The black and white male had not been micro-chipped and no one has yet come forward to claim him.
Staff at Raystede have named him Branson after Sir Richard Branson and his connection with travel and suitcases. However, 2011 could still be a good year for Branson. Several people have expressed an interest in giving him a new home.
