Renewable energy for Hailsham leisure centre

Hailsham Leisure Centre, operated by Freedom Leisure, has opted to use renewable energy instead of fossil fuels.

The centre will now be powered by energy produced by biomass boilers provided by Haven Power in a bid to reduce CO2 emissions.

Freedom Leisure is making the switch in 12 of its centres which will save more than 4million kilos of CO2 across the group.

Simon Davey, environmental manager, said: “We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all our communities.”
