The Ditch the Detox party to raise money for the annual Moving on Parade in Lewes raised an amazing £1,500.

Organiser Patina, which stages the parade every year, said it was delighted with the total.

The event was held at St Mary’s Social Centre in Lewes on Saturday February 7 and featured DJs, a bar and cocktails.

A spokesperson for Patina said: “A tremendous result - thanks again to everyone who contributed time, energy and killer dance floor moves to making this such a success.”

The Moving on Parade celebrates the transition from primary school to secondary school with a mass carnival style procession through the centre of Lewes.

Hundreds of children and teachers take part.
