A HIGHLIGHT of the Lewesian summer season will be the annual Skittles Tournament held in Grange Gardens for the week from Monday, June 18.
The event is run by the Rotary Club of Lewes supported by other local organisations.
The tournament is now in its 46th year and over that time has attracted successive generations of skittlers. From team entry fees, advertising sponsorship, donations, raffles, the beer tent, the burger stand and other activities, the event generates funds to help Rotary support local charities and causes, including Lewes Victoria Hospital and St Peter and St James Hospice, at Chailey.
There are various prizes as well as trophies for winners. The main competition winners receive £100, donated by The Shoe Gallery.
