STAFF from a Peacehaven company took part in a 40 mile midnight walk across the Cotswolds to raise money for Action Medical Research.
A team from Screen Solutions bravely battled against difficult terrain and torrential rain for 18 hours.
The generosity of colleagues, customers and suppliers, as well as family and friends, meant they raised £4,520 including gift aid.
Dan Valovin said: “Well, what an event, I am only just coming to terms with the ‘pain in the rain’ as I now like to refer to the Cotswold Plod 2011 as.
“It is an event we will never forget. What with the difficult terrain, the lack of sleep, the distance (40 miles) and not to mention the rain (it rained for over six hours) and when I say rain it was torrential.
“It was a massive effort as well as being a tremendous fundraising event.”
Dan even managed to persuade three of the company’s largest suppliers to take part: temp agency The Best Connection, timber merchant Arnold Laver Timberworld and aluminium extrusion supplier Metal Contract Management.
Together they expect to raise nearly £10,000.
Walking team members were: Clare Barry, Roger Matthews, Nick Pirie, Julie Scrase and Dan Valovin.
Last year seven employees from Screen Solutions in Newton Road, completed 40 miles over the beautiful South Downs for Action Medical Research.
