A bricklayer from Seaford could be in with a chance of representing the UK at an international competition.
Louis Wilkinson, 20, is in the final four, and the only Sussex entrant left in the competition, for the WorldSkills brickwork competition.
If successful, Louis will represent the UK in brickwork on the UK Squad in Sao Paulo, Brazil, this summer.
Louis said: “Reality has set in on how intense it gets. It’s fantastic to have come this far.”
He has returned to Sussex Downs College for training with Brickwork Curriculum Leader Kevin Diett.
Thirty trades will be represented at WorldSkills in Sao Paulo this summer, and Louis hopes to be the bricklayer representing the UK. The final selection process will take place on May 18.
A spokesman for the college said: “Contractors, along with Louis’ family and friends, wish him the best of luck.”
