THE FAIRTRADE group in Seaford will celebrate its six year anniversary with its annual meeting at the Little Theatre on Tuesday January 17.
All are welcome at the meeting, which will take place at the venue in Steyne Road on Tuesday 17 January, starting at 7pm.
The meeting will hear about Fairtrade developments in Seaford over the last year and plans for 2012.
There will be a speaker, Sally Reith, who will describe the work of Shared Interest.
This is a financial co-operative, set up by a group of Fairtrade pioneers, which lends money to farmers and handicraft makers in the developing world.
Those present will also enjoy a glass or two of Fairtrade wine.
Since the group formed, many more Seaford businesses are selling Fairtrade goods; a wider range of Fairtrade goods is available in shops; schools teach their pupils about Fairtrade, and Seaford has been officially recognised as a Fairtrade Town.
