Seaford in Bloom is open for entries

IF YOU think your garden, hanging basket or business has the best blooms in town, then it’s time to prove it.

Step on up and enter the 2011 Seaford in Bloom Floral Competition where there is a category to for everyone.

SIB chairman Jim Murray said: “There should be something for everyone among the eight available categories; as even just one hanging basket can be entered. We would welcome as many entries as possible in all the categories.”

Entry forms are available at the Tourist Information Centre, Church Street, at Fotobox in Broad Street or can be downloaded from www.seaford-sussex.co.uk/sib.

The entrant does not have to be present for the judging on July 12 as long as there is access for the judges to carry out their task. Closing date for entry is July 5.

Categories include best front garden, best back garden, best container garden, best hanging basket, best warden assisted flats/nursing home, best commercial premises and best street/row/close.

Jim added: “The category ’Best street/close/row’ has a minimum requirement of just four adjacent houses. We would like to encourage more neighbours with attractive front gardens to enter, as the visibility of their gardens brings so much pleasure to people passing by.”
