The Starlets, aged five to nine, completes the line-up for Seaford Netball Club to cover all age groups.
The club has been building through the years and now has juniors aged 10-14, development aged 15-19, seniors 20-plus and back to netball, as well as an exciting response to the Starlets.
After a six-week trial run from January, there is a full commitment from the group to continue on a regular basis.
Clare Flack said: “Having never coached this age group before we were not sure how they would take to it but we have been very impressed by their progress so far.
“Now we know we’re continuing we have purchased some smaller balls which should help them even more.
“They are a lovely excitable bunch and very eager to learn so by the time they go up to juniors they should be far more advanced than in previous years, which can only be a good thing for the club.”
The club trains at Seaford Head School Sports Hall on Monday evenings.
It also fields teams in the East Sussex junior league and seniors in the Eastbourne League.
There is a back to netball 20+ group on Wednesdays from 7.15pm-8.45pm.
Netball’s early history began in the 1890s when it developed from early versions of basketball. It became its own sport as women’s participation in sports increased.
