A MARRIED couple who witnessed the marriage of a serial killer suspected of murdering a Polegate girl have been tracked down after a public appeal.

Strathclyde Police have identified the couple known as ‘the Hardys’ who witnessed the first marriage of serial killer Peter Tobin to teenager Margaret Louise in Brighton on August 6, 1969.

Tobin is currently in prison for killing Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol.

But he is thought to be linked to the disappearance of Louise Kay, aged 18, from Polegate, who went missing after she went nightclubbing with friends in Eastbourne on June 23, 1988.
