THE SEVEN Sisters Cliffs have been voted in the top ten of the nation’s favourite winter wonderland views.
Acccording to the poll the view was chosen as the eighth best vista in the UK.
The survey was conducted by OscarUK.co.uk, a concessions website for over 50s.
OscarUK managing director Peter Simpson said: “Boxing Day and the days before New Year are known to be the busiest for walking as people take a break from the festivities, turn their backs on the busy high street and head for the peace of a winter walk.
“We asked people to tell us their idea of a wonderful winter view when out walking and it’s not surprising that some of the most beautiful landscapes encompassing lakes, coast and hills, were among the top ten.”
The survey found as families cut back on spending this Christmas, they planned to stay home and enjoy winter walks with family and friends.
The top ten were 1. Lake Windermere, Cumbria, 2. St Ives Harbour, Cornwall, 3. Bamburgh Castle and Northumberland coastline, 4. Malvern Hills, Worcestershire, 5. Upper Swaledale, North Yorkshire, 6. Stonehenge at sunset, 7. Glastonbury Tor, 8. The Seven Sisters, East Sussex, 9. Loch Coruisk, Skye and 10. Hadrian’s Wall.
